Officers in Oxfordshire have recovered a stolen caravan more than seven years after it was taken from another county.
The vehicle was located by rural crime specialists in the Banbury area on Thursday, September 17.
The white caravan had been reported missing from Nottinghamshire back in 2019.
According to a police spokesperson, members of the dedicated taskforce have been conducting routine inspections of touring vehicles and leisure accommodation units across the region in recent weeks.
The caravan was identified during these proactive patrols and has now been returned to its owners.
This discovery follows two similar incidents in the local area.
Earlier this year, officers from Thames Valley Police located a touring caravan that had been taken from Germany.
The vehicle was recovered by specialist teams trained in handling cross-border vehicle crime.
Separately, another stolen caravan was discovered near Banbury railway station during the previous month.
That particular unit had been reported stolen from Hampshire in 2019, making it another long-standing case brought to a successful conclusion through police operations in the Oxfordshire area.
