Vinted updates terms and conditions with new rules from October 8, 2026

Published on

The online resale platform Vinted has issued guidance to its user base regarding forthcoming amendments to its operational framework.

The modifications, scheduled to take effect on October 8, 2026, will introduce alterations across several operational areas, including account balance management, counterfeit goods protocols, and platform charging structures.

Those utilizing the service must formally acknowledge and consent to the revised Terms and Conditions to maintain uninterrupted access to their accounts.

A notable revision pertains to individuals holding funds within their Vinted Balance.

Should the platform’s financial services partner be unable to confirm alignment between a user’s banking credentials and their Vinted Balance registration, they could be required to refresh their financial particulars prior to accessing their funds or processing withdrawal transactions.

Additional provisions address scenarios involving account termination.

The platform has indicated that its financial services partner may be directed to deactivate any associated balance accounts when users choose to close their Vinted profiles.

The marketplace has also refined the provisions outlined in Section 7, which governs community standards and content oversight procedures.

One modification likely to attract user attention involves the rebranding of the Buyer Protection charge.

The levy will subsequently be designated as the Vinted fee.

The platform has clarified that this alteration does not constitute the introduction of a novel or supplementary charge.

The calculation methodology remains unaltered, and the amount will persist in appearing at the point of transaction completion.

The existing customer safeguards and buyer protections will remain fully operational following the transition.

An additional revision addresses the management of items confirmed as counterfeit during the Electronics Verification Service.

Comprehensive information regarding this modification is documented within Section 17 of the refreshed terms.

The current Terms and Conditions will remain operative until October 8, 2026.

Users are advised to verify their account credentials and financial information before the amendments take effect, particularly those who frequently list merchandise and process monetary withdrawals through the platform.

A PDF version of the updated terms has been made accessible for users wishing to maintain personal documentation of the revised policies.
