Oxford Beaumont Care Home in Boars Hill has achieved the highest possible rating from the Care Quality Commission.

The facility, which operates under Barchester Healthcare, was assessed between April 22 and May 15, 2026.

Inspectors awarded the service an outstanding rating in both the well-led and caring categories, while marking it good for safety, effectiveness and responsiveness.

Paulina Pronczyk, senior general manager at the home, expressed delight at the outcome and noted that the achievement reflects the commitment demonstrated by all staff members.

According to the regulatory report, the service was commended for fostering a strong sense of community and collaborative working, attributes attributed to a management approach that promotes genuine warmth and inclusivity.

Staff were recognised for their exceptional compassion, attentiveness and dedication to providing individualised support.

Residents who contributed to the inspection provided positive feedback about their experiences at the facility, with one resident describing it as superior to any previous accommodation and highlighting the respectful treatment received.

A family member similarly endorsed the service as the finest available.

Dr Pete Calveley, chief executive of Barchester, visited the home following the announcement to commend the workforce and presented each team member with a voucher worth £500.

The Oxford Beaumont Care Home accommodates 44 individuals requiring residential, dementia or nursing care.
