Thames Valley Police confirmed that a man aged 64, residing in Oxford, was taken into custody on suspicion of brandishing a bladed implement while making threats inside a residential property.

The arrest was carried out by Police Constable Mason on Saturday, August 29.

During the same evening operation, Police Constable Reynolds apprehended a 21-year-old Oxford resident on suspicion of committing common assault.

Additionally, Police Constable Hoffman detained a 21-year-old woman from Banbury, accusing her of criminal damage alongside common assault.

A force representative acknowledged that operational constraints restricted the level of information that could be disclosed.

The spokesperson indicated that preliminary stages of investigations limit what details may be released, though the organisation wished to keep the public informed about policing activities in the area.

Separately, following disturbances on Bridge Street in Banbury occurring the previous night, Friday August 28, officers served a Community Protection Warning on a woman.

The warning advised that continuation of anti-social conduct would trigger more rigorous enforcement measures and additional police intervention.

The enforcement action followed reports from local business operators detailing instances of nuisance conduct, verbal abuse, and threatening behaviour.
