Twelve months have elapsed since Richard Hammond proposed a potential collaboration with his former colleagues during an interview.

The television presenter spent more than twenty years working alongside Jeremy Clarkson and James May on the well-known motoring programmes.

The partnership concluded in the previous year with the release of a final episode titled The Grand Tour: One For The Road, which became available on Prime Video.

During an exclusive conversation with the Oxford Mail in August of last year, Hammond discussed the possibility of reuniting the trio for a different kind of programme.

When questioned about what activities the three might pursue together without focusing on automobiles, Hammond proposed establishing a three-a-side football team to challenge opponents from around the globe.

Hammond also provided details regarding the frequency of gatherings with his former collaborators following the conclusion of The Grand Tour.

Discussing his ongoing connection with the pair, Hammond noted that communication continues between the three men.

He explained that the question about spending additional time together was frequently posed, yet the extensive time already shared during filming meant that the only way to increase interaction would have been through marriage.

Hammond described how the filming schedule allowed opportunities to return home, unpack belongings, reconnect with family, recall one’s residence, before reuniting once more.

He stated that this pattern prevented the development of extensive social habits outside of work.

Hammond expressed that gatherings continue to occur at various functions and occasions, maintaining that such connections persist because two and a half decades of professional collaboration inevitably develops into genuine friendship.
