Two bus routes in Oxford have been forced to reroute because of an incident on a major thoroughfare.
The X1 and X15 services operated by Oxford Bus Company can no longer access Boars Hill.
Both routes will travel along the A34 instead, bypassing several stops.
The affected stops include Hinksey Hill Bottom, Hinksey Hill Top, the Sawmill and Sugworth Lane.
A road closure has been implemented on Oxford Road in the southern part of the city.
The closure began at approximately 8.21am, blocking both carriageways between Sugworth Lane and Foxcombe Road.
The route passes close to Bagley Wood in the Kennington area.
Southern Gas Network confirmed that a rupture was discovered on a high-pressure gas pipe.
Members of the public in the vicinity reported detecting gas odours, with five addresses in the OX1 postcode sector impacted.
The bus company stated that significant delays were anticipated as some vehicles remained trapped within the closure area.
