The incident took place at the intersection near Frilford Heath where the A338 Oxford Road passes through the Vale of White Horse district.

Congestion built up in the village and along the route through Marcham on Frilford Road.

Vehicles travelling southbound on Oxford Road towards Frilford experienced considerable hold-ups.

Delays were also reported on the approach from Marcham along the A415 Frilford Road leading to the affected crossroads.

Reports indicated the road remained blocked for an extended period, with progress particularly slow for drivers navigating through Marcham on Frilford Road.

An update issued at 6:16 PM confirmed that the road traffic collision had been cleared from the Frilford Heath and A338 Oxford Road junction.

Normal traffic flow was restored across the affected routes.

With the incident resolved, conditions in Frilford and Marcham returned to their usual state by the evening.
