Oxford Health’s Mental Health Research Delivery Team has achieved the status of the United Kingdom’s leading enroller in the ENIGMA schizophrenia investigation.
The ENIGMA study represents an international Phase III commercial clinical trial examining the efficacy of Evenamide when administered as supplementary therapy for patients experiencing treatment-resistant schizophrenia.
The research targets individuals whose clinical presentations continue to be insufficiently managed through conventional antipsychotic regimens.
Oxford Health’s honorary consultant psychiatrist and ENIGMA principal investigator Dr Robert McCutcheon explained that achieving the third randomisation milestone represents a significant accomplishment that demonstrates the dedication of staff members throughout Oxford Health who have collaborated to ensure the study’s success.
He noted that commercial clinical investigations play a vital part in broadening treatment-focused research within mental health services, with each trial participant contributing to the evidence base required to develop improved therapeutic approaches for those affected by schizophrenia.
Cristina Sanchez Pascual, who serves as senior clinical researcher and study coordinator at Oxford Health, indicated that enrolling participants into intricate commercial investigations demands collaborative effort, sustained dedication and close coordination with clinical departments.
