The £1.2 billion Oxford North development has received the Best Commercial Building of the Year prize at the OxProp Awards 2026.
The global innovation district in Oxford is designed to foster scientific and technological advancement in the area.
UK Property Forums staged the ceremony at Keble College on September 10, with the project recognised for its contribution to the county’s Local Plan and its provision of science, education and commercial workspace.
Simon Ruck, managing director at Oxford North Ventures, stated that the honour held significant meaning for the entire workforce.
He explained that the accolade demonstrated the level of aspiration behind the scheme and the dedication of those involved in its realisation.
The objective had been to establish a district that would function as an integral component of the city, and witnessing that approach acknowledged by fellow professionals within Oxfordshire’s property sector proved deeply satisfying.
The development earned commendation for successfully combining laboratory and office facilities with accessible public areas and community involvement.
The 64-acre location will eventually offer approximately one million square feet of laboratory and office accommodation, alongside 480 residential properties, a hotel, a nursery and three parks for public use.
Prior to this achievement, the project had secured national honours at the CoStar Impact Awards, where it was designated the most impactful commercial development.
Members of the public can visit the site, which incorporates more than 30 co-working and informal meeting areas, a cafe with views across Fallaize Park, and an auditorium accommodating 100 people.
Between January and the present day in 2026, the auditorium has welcomed roughly 20 occasions encompassing training sessions and expert panel discussions.
