Oxfordshire fire crews have participated in an exercise involving biodegradable foam compounds.
The training took place at Bicester Fire Station and centred on low-expansion foam designed specifically for liquid fuel blazes.
A controlled flowing petrol fire was ignited near the training tower to illustrate how the foam performs under realistic conditions.
Crew member Gregor stated that the session provided valuable practice with an extinguishing agent that sees infrequent deployment, underscoring the necessity of remaining proficient in foam generation techniques.
The substance is generated by modern fire engines and can be drawn from a 120-litre reservoir or sourced externally when extended operations demand substantial quantities of the product.
