Hilton has revealed intentions to establish ten additional properties throughout the United Kingdom during the period spanning from 2026 to 2028.
The upcoming establishments will operate under the company’s budget-oriented brand, Spark by Hilton, which was introduced to the market in 2023.
At present, the portfolio comprises more than 275 Spark by Hilton properties globally, with a further 200 locations currently undergoing development.
The proposed sites for the new Spark by Hilton properties across the United Kingdom encompass Cardiff, Coventry, Derby, Doncaster, Hull, Peterborough, Runcorn, Sunderland, Wakefield, and Washington.
These forthcoming hotels will contribute almost 700 bedrooms to the brand’s collection and are scheduled to commence operations between late 2026 and 2028.
Paul Blackmore, vice president of development for the United Kingdom and Ireland at Hilton, commented that these agreements demonstrate the robust demand for Spark by Hilton evident among operators throughout the UK, and that with almost 700 bedrooms in development, including the brand’s inaugural property in Wales, the concept continues to build momentum as proprietors acknowledge the strength of its value-focused approach and capacity to address the requirements of contemporary travellers.
The new hotels form part of a commercial arrangement with AG Hotels Group, a British hotel ownership and management company.
Girish Grover, founder and chief executive of AG Hotels Group, stated that the company was pleased to collaborate with Hilton to broaden the reach of Spark by Hilton throughout the United Kingdom, describing the agreement as closely matching AG Hotels Group’s objective of establishing successful, flourishing establishments nationwide and representing a significant advancement in the company’s next growth phase.
The properties will be situated in proximity to major employment zones, transportation interchanges, and tourist destinations.
Notable developments include an establishment offering views of Doncaster Racecourse, a property situated next to Derby’s railway station, and a hotel along the A1 corridor in Peterborough serving one of the United Kingdom’s principal logistics routes.
The Cardiff property will enhance Hilton’s standing in the Welsh capital, while locations in Runcorn, Wakefield, and Hull provide access to significant industrial, distribution, and entertainment centres across northern England.
Hilton has simultaneously finalised an arrangement with SMAR Hotels Ltd to introduce Scotland’s inaugural Spark by Hilton establishment in Dunfermline.
The 53-bedroom property is slated for opening in late 2026 following comprehensive renovation works.
