A 61-year-old driver has admitted responsibility for causing significant harm to a female pedestrian through careless conduct behind the wheel.
John Andrew acknowledged the charge at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on August 20, following an occurrence on Oak Street in Lechlade on October 22, 2024.
At the time of the incident, Andrew was operating a black Renault Clio.
Proceedings at the court established that Andrew’s failure to exercise proper care resulted in the victim suffering severe injuries.
Following the hearing, Andrew received an immediate prohibition from driving.
He was also granted unconditional bail while officials prepare a pre-sentence report ahead of his sentencing date.
Andrew, whose address is listed as Blanchard Road in Swindon, is required to appear again at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 21 to receive his sentence.
