A 43-year-old man from Camberley has been handed a driving ban after police detected his vehicle travelling at 128 miles per hour on a major motorway in Oxfordshire.
David Woodhouse, whose address is listed as Chestnut Close in the Blackwater district of Camberley, entered a guilty plea to a charge of exceeding the 70 miles per hour speed restriction applicable to motorways.
The contravention took place on 16 November 2025 along a section of the M40 carriageway situated between junctions nine and 10, close to the villages of Chesterton and Weston-on-the-Green.
The velocity was documented through equipment operated by trained personnel, according to official court documentation.
Woodhouse received a financial penalty of £600.
Additional payments were also mandated, comprising £120 in legal costs and a £240 surcharge designated for victims of crime.
The judicial authority issued a prohibition from driving for a duration of 190 days.
A recovery order was issued by the court, establishing a schedule for payments.
All financial penalties must be settled in full by 24 September.
The defendant’s admission of responsibility was considered during the determination of the penalty.
