The premiere date for the second series of Celebrity Traitors appears to have been inadvertently disclosed.
The celebrity adaptation of the hit reality format released its inaugural promotional trailer recently, though an official confirmation of the broadcast commencement has yet to be issued by the broadcaster.
During a live edition of the entertainment podcast hosted by Richard Osman, the potential launch date emerged.
Osman was joined by fellow presenter Marina Hyde and former contestant Joe Marler, who garnered significant viewer affection during the programme’s initial run.
When questioned regarding guidance he would offer incoming participants, Marler appeared to reveal the schedule.
The comedian stated what he believed to be the commencement date for the subsequent series.
Osman then acknowledged that the information remained under embargo while simultaneously confirming the September 23rd launch, noting that the detail had already entered public knowledge despite requests not to reiterate it.
Marler elaborated on his involvement in the original series, describing the atmosphere as predominantly humorous with participants focused on entertainment rather than competitive strategy.
He explained that cast members were engaged in lighthearted interaction to such an extent that production staff intervened to remind them they were attempting to play a game.
The upcoming contestants are reportedly approaching the competition with greater ambition from the outset, potentially influenced by the success achieved by their predecessors.
The confirmed lineup for the upcoming series includes Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, James Acaster, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Myha’la, Professor Hannah Fry, Richard E.
Grant, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft, and Sharon Rooney.
The BBC declined to provide comment on the matter.
