Oxfordshire County Council has announced that six traffic management measures will be introduced across the city, with enforcement beginning on September 28.
Drivers should expect new restrictions and potential fines of £70 for non-compliance.
The local authority has confirmed these measures as experimental schemes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The controls will operate at four city-centre locations including Hythe Bridge Street, St Clements, St Cross Road and Thames Street, running daily between 7am and 7pm.
Additional controls will be implemented on Hollow Way and Marston Ferry Road during weekday morning and afternoon peak hours.
These locations will be monitored between 7am and 9am, then again from 3pm until 6pm, with restrictions applying Monday through Saturday.
Private vehicles travelling without authorisation will be prohibited from passing through any of the monitored points during the specified hours.
Certain groups have been granted automatic dispensation, including Blue Badge holders, particular local residents, healthcare professionals, designated emergency service personnel, car club members, unpaid carers and eligible business operators.
Vehicles falling outside the exemption categories that lack valid documentation may receive a penalty notice set at £70.
The experimental traffic order maintains validity for a maximum of eighteen months, after which the council will evaluate whether to establish the arrangements on a permanent basis.
Residents wishing to challenge a permanent implementation must submit their concerns within six months of the order taking effect.

The authority retains powers to amend or temporarily suspend the order as circumstances require.
Dene Road will undergo a complete closure on November 11, lasting from midnight through the end of the day, to facilitate overhead cable work being conducted by Openreach.
Access will be preserved for emergency services and adjacent properties wherever operationally feasible.
An alternative route has been suggested via Dene Road, Coverley Road, Bulan Road and the B4495.
Numerous other temporary restrictions have been scheduled across the wider county area.
In Carterton, Upavon Way will be unavailable to traffic between Carr Avenue and Lord Close during evening and overnight hours from 8pm until 6am, spanning the period from September 1 through September 26.
This closure enables resurfacing works to proceed.
Cycle users and pedestrians will continue to have passage available, with other traffic redirected along Alvescot Road and Burford Road.
Northwood Crescent presently remains shut between its south-eastern terminus and Raynham Close due to ongoing residential development.
This arrangement could persist until the end of 2029.
High Street in Stonesfield requires closure between Kemps Cottage and The Cottage during September 15 to September 22 to allow gas infrastructure work to take place.
Construction of a new pedestrian facility necessitates Frog Lane in Milton-under-Wychwood being inaccessible from September 7 until September 18.
Appleton Road in Cumnor will be blocked between house numbers 50 and 62 between October 20 and October 24 to enable connection of a new water main.
A section of Oxford Road between Denman’s Lane and Bertie Road will be unavailable from November 23 through January 22, 2027 to facilitate replacement of the gas distribution network.
Additional closures have been scheduled for The Playing Close in Charlbury between October 20 and October 22, Junction Road in Churchill on October 23, and Manor Road in Witney from October 21 to October 27.
Various roads serving Eynsham, Holton, Wytham, Faringdon, Wheatfield, Tetsworth and Stoke Talmage will also be subject to restrictions.
The B4445 between Chinnor Road and Waterlands Farm Bungalow will be inaccessible from September 21 to October 8 to permit highway improvement works.
Speed restrictions of 30mph will be imposed on selected sections of the B480 at Chiselhampton beginning September 2.
The A420 in the vicinity of the Coxwell Road junction will operate under a temporary 30mph limit from September 14 while junction improvement works involving widening and traffic signal installation proceed.
Completion of these works is projected for April 2027.
West Oxfordshire District Council has submitted plans to dispose of approximately 3,540.95 square metres of land at Springfield Oval in Witney.
Those wishing to formally object must ensure their submissions arrive by 5pm on September 1.
Mangetout Oxford Ltd has submitted an application for a premises licence authorising sale of alcohol at The Handlebar Cafe and Kitchen located at 28-32 St Michael Street in Oxford.
Proposed trading hours extend to 11pm Monday through Saturday and until 10pm on Sundays.
Value Retail Management has sought a licence at Bicester Village covering alcohol sales, entertainment provision and late-night refreshment, with operations permitted until 1am each day.
