Thames Valley Police confirmed an individual was taken into custody following reports of a knife-related incident in Oxford.
A 65-year-old resident was apprehended by officers on Cowley Road on the evening of August 2.
The arrest occurred at approximately 9pm following a call to police regarding a man armed with a knife at a property on the road.
The individual was detained on suspicion of threatening another person with an offensive weapon.
Following a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the reported incident, authorities determined that no criminal charges would be filed.
A representative for Thames Valley Police stated that officers had responded to the reported disturbance at the Cowley Road address.
The suspect, who hails from Oxford, was arrested on the aforementioned weapons charge.
Investigators reviewed the evidence and decided against pursuing prosecution.
The detained man has since been released from police custody, and the matter has been closed with no further action planned.
