A British fashion retailer has shut down all its remaining physical locations following a period of administration.
Radley London, which specialised in leather goods and accessories, had operated 21 high street branches alongside 19 outlet stores across the United Kingdom.
The company traces its origins to 1998, when it was established at Camden Market in the capital.
Over subsequent decades, the business expanded to include outlets in locations including Ashford, Swindon, London, Gretna, Covent Garden, Glasgow, and the Cotswolds Designer Outlet near Tewkesbury.
A further presence existed at Braintree Village.
The organisation entered administration in May, citing difficult economic conditions as the primary reason for its financial difficulties.
Administration proceedings resulted in Gordon Brothers securing ownership of the Radley brand, its intellectual property, and certain assets through a pre-pack arrangement.
The acquisition specifically excluded the retailer’s network of 21 physical stores in the United Kingdom.
Following the announcement, shoppers were invited to purchase remaining stock at discounts reaching 70 percent.
The company’s digital platform ceased operations on 19 August.
The wind-down of physical retail operations has displaced 42 employees.
Throughout its trading history, Radley built recognition for its sustainable leather handbags and purses.
The product range subsequently broadened to encompass footwear and related accessories.
Licensing agreements also permitted the Radley name to appear on eyewear, jewellery, watches, and beauty items.
The brand maintained a significant commercial relationship with John Lewis in addition to various other stockists.
