Police in Oxfordshire have taken two women into custody following reports of overnight incidents.
Officers from Thames Valley Police’s dedicated incident and crime response unit responded to several reports on the evening of September 1.
The force indicated that safeguarding measures were implemented through arrest powers.
The individuals, from separate locations within Oxfordshire, were both detained on suspicion of similar offences.
A 40-year-old resident of Bampton was held on suspicion of domestic common assault alongside allegations of coercive and controlling behaviour.
A second individual, a 53-year-old from Banbury, was also detained on suspicion of domestic common assault.
The force issued a communication on the morning of September 2 confirming that both women remained in police detention pending interview proceedings scheduled for later that morning.
A representative for the specialist team explained that legal restrictions prevented the disclosure of comprehensive information while investigations remained at an early stage.
