A joint ticketing initiative is enabling visitors to explore Oxford’s heritage through both a city tour by bus and entry to a local museum at a reduced rate.

City Sightseeing Oxford has collaborated with the Museum of Oxford to introduce the combined admission package, providing access to the hop-on, hop-off sightseeing service alongside entrance to the museum.

Adult admission costs £21.50, while students and senior visitors pay £18.50.

Children are charged £13, with those aged under five traveling at no cost.

Kamini Patel, retail and tourism manager at City Sightseeing Oxford, described the arrangement as an exciting collaboration between two of the city’s principal tourist destinations.

She noted that the package delivers excellent value and enables visitors to gain deeper insight into Oxford’s cultural heritage and historical significance.

The bus route covers 18 locations throughout Oxford, with the seventh stop positioned conveniently near the Museum of Oxford.

Susan Brown, leader of Oxford City Council with cabinet responsibility for partnership working, inclusive economic growth, and culture, welcomed the initiative as a valuable opportunity to enable additional residents and visitors to discover the museum and the compelling narratives that have formed the city.

She added that the offer also presents an excellent occasion for people to learn more about their surroundings and the events that have shaped them.

The Museum of Oxford is presently featuring a temporary exhibition titled Sounds of the City, which launched during the previous month.

Following activation of the bus tour component, ticket holders have a three-month window to redeem the museum portion of the voucher.

The museum operates from within Oxford Town Hall and welcomes visitors from Monday through Saturday between 10am and 5pm.
