The Leys Splash Park in Witney closes on September 7

Published on

The Leys Splash Park in Witney will cease operations for the year following the start of September, according to an announcement from Witney Town Council.

The facility, which provides complimentary water-based activities for children, will shut its doors on Monday, September 7.

The closure comes as temperatures begin to drop and the autumn season gets underway.

According to the council, the attraction will continue to welcome visitors between 10am and 5pm daily until that date, though there will be a midday closure lasting from noon until 2pm.

In a statement published online, the council expressed the hope that local families and residents had taken full advantage of the splash park throughout the summer months, particularly during the periods of intense heat experienced recently.

The message also suggested that visitors had created lasting memories during their time at the facility.

The splash park offers a variety of water features including jets situated at ground level, fountains and spray mechanisms.

These elements form part of a broader recreational area designated for family use within The Leys recreation ground.
