Police in Oxfordshire have taken a man into custody on suspicion of breaching bail conditions imposed by a court, during which a bladed article was discovered.

Officers from the Thames Valley Police detachment based in Abingdon detained the individual on Saturday, August 29.

According to a force representative, PC Hackett responded to reports that a man was violating terms of his court-ordered bail.

With support from colleagues PC Ellingworth and PC Harvey, the individual was taken into custody.

A subsequent search of his belongings resulted in the seizure of a knife.

In a broader statement about police activity, the force indicated that officers had also provided assistance in a welfare concern that had connections to the late-night entertainment sector.

Furthermore, officers conducted licensing inspections throughout the Abingdon area as part of their duties.

Drug detection wipes were deployed during these checks and submitted for laboratory analysis.
