Police appeal after 60-year-old needs surgery following Oxford assault by three teens

An investigation has been commenced in Oxford following reports of a violent assault involving teenage boys.

Thames Valley Police confirmed officers were examining circumstances surrounding an incident that resulted in a man in his sixties receiving hospital treatment, including a surgical procedure.

The attack occurred in the vicinity of the North Oxford Association Community Centre on Diamond Place on the evening of Tuesday, August 18, at approximately 6pm.

Medical assessment revealed the victim sustained several injuries, comprising fractures to his thumb and hand that necessitated operative intervention.

Detective constable Adam Raynes, the officer leading the case, stated that the victim endured considerable harm during the encounter, with authorities believing he was subjected to kicking and punching.

Authorities are seeking details from individuals who may have witnessed the assault or captured relevant footage.

The suspects have been identified as three white males of adolescent age.

One was clad entirely in white garments, while another wore exclusively black clothing.

The third individual remains undescribed.

Constable Raynes urged residents or visitors present near Diamond Place or the community centre premises around 6pm on August 18 to provide any accounts of the occurrence.

He additionally requested that anyone possessing dashboard camera recordings or alternative video material from the location during that period forward the content to investigators.

Individuals possessing any information, regardless of perceived significance, were encouraged to make contact.
