The Royal Air Force’s premier aerial display squadron is preparing for a busy bank holiday weekend of performances across the United Kingdom.

Following a turbulent period that saw the team stranded briefly in Canada during a North American tour, the Red Arrows have resumed their public schedule.

An appearance at the Eastbourne International Airshow earlier this month had to be cancelled due to logistical complications arising from the transatlantic journey.

Since returning to British airspace, the squadron has completed a display in Sweden and restarted its domestic programme.

The team departed from RAF Mildenhall after completing their appearance at the Clacton Airshow in Essex.

Their journey back to their Merseyside base will include a pass over northern Oxfordshire on Friday afternoon, with residents near Banbury expected to catch sight of the formation around 6:15pm.

Following the Oxfordshire flypast, the squadron will head to the Dorset coastline for a performance at Sidmouth.

The programme there will also feature several other aviation acts: the Stampe team, Rich Goodwin’s twin-wing aircraft, a wing-walking pair operating from an Aerosuperbatics platform, and a Naval aviation display team.

The Red Arrows’ weekend concludes with back-to-back shows at the Southport Airshow on Saturday and Sunday, with displays scheduled for 3:30pm on each day.

Saturday’s event will additionally showcase the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at 4pm, while Sunday’s programme includes a Eurofighter Typhoon demonstration.
