A retail outlet operated by the Co-op group in Bicester has assured members of the public that none of its employees sustained injuries during a police operation conducted outside the premises.

The branch situated on Buckingham Road was reported to have been cordoned off with crime scene tape and attended by multiple officers on Thursday evening, August 27.

The visible police presence prompted enquiries from customers and people residing in the vicinity.

Representatives from Thames Valley Police and from the retail chain subsequently clarified that the operation pertained to a road traffic matter occurring on the carriageway rather than any incident originating within the commercial premises.

A force spokesperson characterised the occurrence as a minor collision involving vehicles but declined to provide additional details when approached for comment.

A communications representative for Co-op stated that the incident unfolded on the far side of the highway adjacent to the store and had no impact on personnel or the structure itself.

The retailer confirmed that structural damage was absent and that employees were unharmed, with normal business activities resuming at the outlet during the course of the evening.

The store continued trading as normal the following day.
