The outdoor swimming facility in Woodstock has secured an extended operational period following an exceptional summer season.

The venue, situated in West Oxfordshire, will continue welcoming visitors through September 27 after West Oxfordshire District Council and leisure operator GLL confirmed the continuation of services.

Attendance figures at the facility had surpassed 9,000 by late July, substantially exceeding the 3,039 visitors recorded during the equivalent timeframe in 2025.

The surge in popularity prompted the decision to prolong the swimming season.

A council representative highlighted the positive community response to the outdoor pool, noting satisfaction that the season would extend into autumn.

The official emphasised continued demand for open-water swimming experiences, particularly among those seeking cooler conditions, and expressed enthusiasm that the extension would offer additional opportunities for residents to utilise the facility.

The prolonged opening schedule will reinstate the centre’s cold-water swimming initiative, which had attracted considerable interest during the earlier part of the year.

A statement from the venue’s management described the current season as outstanding, acknowledging the diverse range of visitors from regular patrons to first-time attendees.

Operational staff indicated that weather conditions would remain under review, with potential for further extension should conditions prove favourable.
