A British company responsible for designing a prominent retail outlet has entered administration with debts exceeding £466,000.
Campbell Architects Limited, a Witney-based architectural practice, was wound up voluntarily on August 11, 2026, with liquidators from Opus Business Advisory Group overseeing the dissolution.
Gareth Wilcox and Louise Williams from Opus were appointed as Joint Liquidators following the company’s entry into liquidation due to financial difficulties.
HM Revenue and Customs emerged as a major creditor in the proceedings.
The firm employed an average of five staff members during its most recent financial year ending March 31, 2025, though the company had no workforce at the time of appointment.
No employees were made redundant as a result of the closure, and no active projects remained under the firm’s supervision at the point of liquidation.
Campbell Architects, established in 2007, built its reputation across commercial, social housing and residential sectors.
The practice collaborated with several major developers, including Aviva Investors, Berkeley Homes, Great Portland Estates, Legal and General, and St Modwen Properties.
Among its notable commissions was the design of New Balance’s flagship United Kingdom store on Oxford Street in London.
The practice also undertook work on the refurbishment of the Grade II Listed headquarters belonging to the Royal United Services Institute, as well as the construction of Osborne Garden in Hillborough, a development comprising 150 new homes.
According to the company’s most recent accounts filed for the period ending March 31, 2025, Campbell Architects reported creditors falling due within one year totalling £466,658.
The largest portion of this sum fell under the category of other taxation and social security obligations.
