A fresh Indian dining venue is preparing to welcome its first guests in an Oxfordshire community today, with its proprietor expressing eager anticipation for the launch.

Masoom’s Indian Kitchen and Bar will commence operations in Church Street, Bodicote, close to Banbury, at 4pm on Wednesday, August 26.

The proprietor, 44-year-old Mijan Ahmed, brings expertise acquired during his tenure in the acclaimed kitchens of Malik’s in Cookham, which is operated by his relative, as well as from managing an establishment in Goring since 2005.

Those behind the venture issued a statement noting that following extensive preparation and anticipation, the moment had finally arrived. They indicated their enthusiasm for greeting visitors and presenting Masoom’s, which offers authentic Indian fare, an attractive interior, a comprehensive drinks selection and attentive hospitality. The team noted that advance reservations were already being secured, urging prospective diners to book promptly to avoid disappointment. They expressed gratitude for the tremendous backing received prior to opening and confirmed their readiness to receive guests.

The new restaurant occupies the premises formerly held by The Spice Room, which ceased operations after receiving a zero-star hygiene assessment from Cherwell District Council in 2022.

Mr Ahmed described his excitement regarding the inauguration and characterised the establishment as an entirely fresh venture.
