Didcot woman sentenced for lock knife at Thorpe Park

A defendant from Didcot has been handed a suspended custodial term after acknowledging possession of a prohibited bladed item at a Surrey amusement resort.

Lisa East, residing at Lockinge Close in the Oxfordshire town, entered a guilty plea to charges of carrying a lock knife in a public area.

The incident occurred at the theme park in Surrey on July 20.

Sentencing at the crown court resulted in a four-month imprisonment term suspended for a period of one year.

The judiciary determined that the offence warranted consideration of immediate custody, though noted that rehabilitation prospects appeared achievable.

East was directed to remit £85 in legal costs to the Crown Prosecution Service alongside a £154 victim services levy.

The weapon was subject to forfeiture and destruction orders.

A collection order was imposed, with East having requested that amounts be deducted from her state benefits.

Full settlement of the financial penalties must be achieved within 28 days.

East entered her guilty indication on August 24, with conviction recorded on that same date.
