Clarkson’s Farm star Harriet Cowan gets 500 marriage proposals a day

Harriet Cowan, a 25-year-old from Derbyshire, joined the cast of Clarkson’s Farm during its latest season on Prime Video.

The programme aired across May and June the previous year.

She stepped in as a temporary replacement for Kaleb Cooper while he was touring, assisting Jeremy Clarkson at the agricultural enterprise located in Chadlington, situated in west Oxfordshire.

Her involvement concluded partway through the season when her assistance was no longer required.

Despite her limited appearance, she garnered significant appreciation from the audience.

According to comments made to The Telegraph, Harriet Cowan receives daily marriage proposals numbering approximately 500.

She revealed that roughly a thousand direct messages arrive each day, with about half originating from men expressing wishes to marry her.

She described the situation as light-hearted.

The remaining messages reportedly come from young female viewers who have been inspired by her farming activities and express interest in pursuing similar work.

Her romantic partner, James Booth, is also involved in agriculture.

The couple formed their relationship during their teenage years through Belper Young Farmers Club.

In November, Harriet Cowan intends to depart from her father’s agricultural holding in Derbyshire to establish her own independent farming operation spanning 100 acres.

She plans to develop this land into a cattle-fattening enterprise, mirroring the approach of her father, Eddy.

While her father supplies produce to a nearby butcher, her intention is to operate a butcher’s shop directly on the premises.

She expressed uncertainty about profitability but emphasized her familiarity with the industry.

Her planned livestock includes Belgian Blues alongside Aberdeen Angus and Holstein Friesian breeds.

The fattening process involves raising the animals until they reach 18 months of age before selling at market.

In earlier remarks to Closer magazine, she discussed the isolating nature of agricultural work, noting the significance of maintaining friendships with peers facing similar circumstances.

She described spending extended periods working alone, often operating machinery for approximately 12 hours daily.

Regarding her departure from nursing, she indicated that recognition from patients created professional complications.

Maintaining appropriate decorum proved challenging when individuals referenced her television appearances during serious professional interactions.

As commercial propositions accumulated and annual leave became exhausted, the situation became untenable.

She explained that declining substantial opportunities had become unsustainable.
