An ice cream business from Oxfordshire is moving into Oxford’s city centre.
Alfonso Gelateria, which launched a decade ago from a mobile food vehicle, has put forward proposals to establish a site in Little Clarendon Street, Oxford.
The proposed venue at number 20, previously home to Steamhouse bagel bar and adjacent to Gail’s bakery, will include both a fascia sign and a hanging sign, with neither featuring any lighting.
The planning submission is currently under consideration.
Alfonso Gelateria, recognised for its extensive selection of frozen desserts and sorbets, was established by Lewis Ratto, who cultivated his expertise in Italian frozen treats during time spent in Rome before relocating to Britain in 2010.
Mr Ratto has indicated that his products provide more than simply a chilled confection.

The business already operates branches in Witney, Woodstock, and runs a mobile unit in Summertown, alongside outlets in Stow-on-the-Wold, Stroud, and Cirencester.
The enterprise originated from a vintage Ape food truck, specially constructed in a small settlement located two miles from Naples.
Mr Ratto started developing ice cream recipes following completion of his chemistry degree in 2015, which ultimately led to the creation of Alfonso Gelateria.
The establishment provides an extensive range of options, encompassing vanilla, chocolate, salted caramel, hazelnut, pistachio, mint, stracciatella, lemon cheesecake, dark chocolate, banoffee, coffee, tiramisu, Nutella, and crema della nonna.
Sorbet offerings include strawberry, mango, raspberry, blueberry and lemon, lemon and basil, lemon and mint, passion fruit, strawberry and balsamic, orange and clementine, coconut and pineapple, ginger and honey, blackberry, and kombucha.
