The decision regarding who will represent Jeremy Clarkson’s Cotswolds agricultural holding in Oxfordshire is scheduled for next week.

The former presenter of Top Gear and The Grand Tour has resided in the Oxfordshire region for a number of years, operating Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington.

Approximately two years back, he expanded his holdings by acquiring The Windmill establishment in Asthall for £1,000,000, subsequently rebranding it as The Farmer’s Dog.

Following renovations, Mr Clarkson welcomed customers through the doors in August 2024, and the venue has proven popular, frequently drawing substantial crowds.

Since opening, the pub has faced several planning matters, most recently concerning an overflow parking area.

This mirrors the situation at Diddly Squat, where Mr Clarkson has engaged in multiple disputes with West Oxfordshire District Council.

Recently, the roster of contenders has been released for the forthcoming local elections in the district.

Residents of West Oxfordshire will cast their votes on Thursday, May 7, with the election covering one-third of the council seats, encompassing one position across 16 wards.

The candidates vying for the Chipping Norton constituency, in proximity to the Diddly Squat Farm Shop, have also been announced prior to voting the following week.

Sandra June Coleman is the Liberal Democrats nominee, Claire Eliane Lasko represents the Green Party, and Darren Marshall stands for Reform UK.

Caspar Morris is the Conservative Party contender, while Sian O’Neill is the candidate for Labour and the Co-operative Party.

Liberal Democrat councillor Nigel Ridpath continues to serve the Chadlington and Churchill ward, having secured election in 2024, with his term extending until 2028.
