Traffic delays persist on A34 after collision closes road

‘Significant hold-ups’

According to AA Traffic News, significant hold-ups are being experienced due to the collision just beyond the Chilton Interchange, with traffic backed up as far as Harwell in the southbound direction.

Present wait times are approximately 20 minutes, with vehicles moving at roughly 10mph on average.

National Highways statement

National Highways has stated that one carriageway lane is shut between the A4185 Chilton Interchange and where the A34 meets the M4 motorway.

Classified as a ‘severe’ highway occurrence resulting from a collision, wait times are presently calculated at 30 minutes.

Congestion continues to increase on the A34 southbound following the Milton Interchange. Travelers should anticipate delays if traveling in this direction during the afternoon hours.
