An elderly man has rejected numerous sexual abuse claims dating back half a century.
Anthony Kent, residing at Ferry Walk in Abingdon, attended Oxford Crown Court on Thursday, April 23.
The 83-year-old faces 17 charges concerning incidents allegedly occurring from 1970 to 1975.
All charges involve a single alleged victim, who was between six and ten years old during the relevant period.
He faces five rape charges, five indecent assault charges, and seven charges of indecency involving a child.
The court was informed that because Kent uses a wheelchair, the case could not proceed at Oxford Crown Court.
Consequently, a hearing was scheduled for Friday, June 12 to facilitate transferring the matter to a different court.
Kent was granted conditional bail, prohibiting any contact with the complainant.
