A psychiatrist vacancy has opened up at Oxford Health’s Clinical Research Facility.

Located at Warneford Hospital in Oxford, this facility represents the sole NIHR-backed Clinical Research Facility in England that specializes in mental health.

In partnership with the University of Oxford, the unit carries out first-in-human studies and experimental medicine research, advancing treatment approaches and knowledge for conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and dementia.

The position, offering compensation between £61,542 and £99,216, is permanent full-time.

The chosen individual will oversee the everyday medical oversight of participants enrolled in research at this eight-bed Clinical Research Facility.

Duties encompass performing physical and psychiatric evaluations, assessments guided by study protocols, and conversations around informed consent.

The position involves collaboration with a varied population, from individuals without health conditions to those managing complicated psychiatric disorders.

The opportunity allows for close partnership with multidisciplinary teams, university collaborators, and study funders to guarantee the safe and successful execution of groundbreaking research.

Beyond clinical responsibilities, the appointed person will participate in study design, service enhancement, educational initiatives, and patient and public engagement efforts.

These activities will take place within a team-oriented setting, with the work week incorporating dedicated time for professional development.

The role is backed by Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, which emphasizes employee progression and development.
