A former childcarer will stand trial again later this year on a rape accusation involving a young child.
Philip Foster, residing in Headington, had previously undergone proceedings at Oxford Crown Court.
The 49-year-old faced a single accusation of encouraging a girl to take part in sexual conduct spanning from August 1, 2022 to December 21, 2023.
He additionally faced an accusation of sexually assaulting a girl during that identical period.
Foster denied all charges.
The court was informed that Foster was operating as a registered childminder when the incident occurred.
On Tuesday, April 7, jurors determined he was guilty of encouraging a girl to participate in sexual activity. They were unable to reach a unanimous decision regarding the rape charge.
On April 14, Foster appeared via video link from HMP Bullingdon after being taken into custody following his conviction.
It was announced that Foster would face a fresh trial on the rape charge set for October 26 this year.
