Witney Road Runners secured the top positions at the White Horse Half Marathon.
The race’s 41st running took place in Grove on Sunday, March 29, with 515 participants completing the course under mostly favorable weather, though competitors faced a gentle wind during the later stages.
James Ellis representing Abingdon AC finished first, clocking in at 1 hour, 9 minutes, and 11 seconds.
He seized control of the race immediately and extended his advantage throughout the event, crossing the finish line more than 60 seconds before James Davis from Dacorum AC took second place.
Matthew Lock from Witney Road Runners, who had previously won this event, finished in third position.
In the women’s division, Natasha Roebuck of Witney Road Runners claimed victory with a time of 1 hour, 22 minutes, and 26 seconds.
Her clubmate Isabel Stubbs came in second, while Lieben Dickens from Headington Road Runners placed third.
The men’s team championship went to Witney Road Runners, whose roster included Matthew Lock, Dan Blake, Jack Gavin, and Paul Taylor, beating out teams from Abingdon AC and Woodstock Harriers.
Witney Road Runners’ women’s squad—comprising Natasha Roebuck, Isabel Stubbs, and Lauren Beedie—earned the team title for the third year in succession.
Their second team placed second overall, with Headington Road Runners taking third place.
