Officers have carried out a search at a residence in Oxfordshire.

The operation took place at an address in Banbury on Tuesday, March 24, following calls to Thames Valley Police.

Photographs posted on the force’s social media platforms showed officers wearing protective headgear standing at the entrance of the property.

According to a communication from Thames Valley Police: Local Neighbourhood Policing Team members conducted the search as part of their continuous efforts to protect residents. The force responds to information provided to them and will not hesitate to intervene when issues are flagged. Various items were taken from the premises for examination and enquiries are continuing. Further details will be released once it becomes appropriate to do so. There is currently no cause for alarm among the general public, as the local Neighbourhood Team is actively managing the situation.
