Recent convictions at Oxford Magistrates’ Court:

ALLIYAH HOLDING, aged 22, of Jenni Manners Court, Westlea, Swindon, was convicted of refusing to supply a specimen for analysis when required by a police officer, refusing to cooperate with a preliminary test, and possessing a bladed article in a public place, specifically a locking knife, in Oxford on March 5 the previous year. She was directed to pay £200 in costs and a £114 victim surcharge. Additionally, she must adhere to the responsible officer’s requirements to attend appointments for up to 16 days and received an 18-month driving prohibition. The locking knife was ordered to be forfeited and destroyed.

He was directed to pay £250 in costs, an £86 victim surcharge and a £108 financial penalty. Orders were made for both substances to be forfeited and destroyed.

CORAN BATEMAN, aged 39, of Mill Close, Charlton On Otmoor, Kidlington, entered a guilty plea to handling stolen goods, specifically bank cards, in Boarstall, Buckinghamshire on October 6 the previous year. He received a six-month conditional discharge.

DARREN GOVES, aged 56, of Folly View Road, Faringdon, entered guilty pleas to two counts of assault by beating against two women in Faringdon on September 30 the previous year. He additionally entered a guilty plea to one count of stalking involving fear of violence against a woman in Faringdon between July 1 and October 9 the previous year. He was directed to pay £85 in costs and a £114 victim surcharge. An electronic monitoring tag was imposed for six months. He must comply with the responsible officer’s requirements to attend appointments for up to 26 days and complete 100 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.

DOVYDAS BALCIUS, aged 19, of James Wolfe Road, Oxford, was convicted of driving while over the prescribed alcohol limit in a Cupra Formentor on Park End Street, Oxford on September 16 the previous year, with 63 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. He additionally entered a guilty plea to driving without third party insurance on the same date. He was directed to pay £600 in costs, a £300 victim surcharge and a £750 financial penalty. He received an 18-month driving prohibition, reducible by 18 weeks upon completion of a course by February 28 the following year.

CHRISTOPHER HAINES, aged 42, of Pound Way, Oxford, entered guilty pleas to possessing a class A drug and a class B drug, specifically cocaine and cannabis, in Oxford on July 15 2024. DONALD MAHONEY, aged 74, of Main Street, Grendon Underwood, Aylesbury, entered a guilty plea to exceeding a 30mph speed restriction on the A4074 at Warborough on October 7 2024. The recorded speed was 39mph. He was directed to pay £100 in costs, an £80 victim surcharge and a £100 financial penalty. Three penalty points were also imposed.

MOHAMMED AKBAR, aged 27, of Bath Road, Walsall, entered a guilty plea to drug driving in a silver Volkswagen Caddy at Ock Street, Abingdon on May 8 the previous year. He was directed to pay £85 in costs and a £135 financial penalty. Ten penalty points were also imposed.

MIA MORRIS, aged 30, of Abingdon Road, Oxford, was convicted of wasting police time in Oxford on December 8 2024. She received an absolute discharge.

PETER MUIGAI, aged 63, of Vicarage Road, Oxford, was convicted of one count of common assault committed in Oxford on October 13 the previous year. He was directed to pay £200 in costs and received a six-month conditional discharge.
