Students from a Didcot secondary school presented an impressive dance performance at the town’s arts centre.

Dancers from The Aureus School delighted audiences in the theatre at Cornerstone Arts Centre, delivering a series of dynamic routines.

The venue, situated within the Orchard shopping centre, hosts a full calendar of events and performances throughout the year.

The event earlier this month included performers from Years 7 through 11, along with special guests and former students.

Amy King, who leads performing arts at the school, described the showcase as a celebration of creativity, teamwork and performance, bringing together pupils from different year groups to present their work on a professional stage. She noted that the programme included a variety of pieces developed through classroom studies, extra-curricular clubs and choreography led by the students themselves.

Aureus School belongs to the GLF Schools multi-academy trust and is situated at Great Western Park. Kirsty Rogers serves as the headteacher.

In a written statement, she highlighted that as the sole co-educational secondary school in Didcot, the school benefits from a diverse student body whose varied talents help create a lively school community.
