A Bicester-headquartered energy provider for commercial clients has achieved a significant expansion target as part of its broader success narrative.

Valda Energy connected its 50,000th meter point during February and currently maintains a workforce exceeding 125 staff members.

The organisation supplies more than 40,000 small and medium-sized enterprises throughout the United Kingdom, encompassing 519 businesses within Oxfordshire, and has fitted approximately 132 intelligent metering devices throughout the county.

Daljeet Kaur, the company’s chief operating officer, stated that hitting the 50,000 meter connection mark represented a significant achievement for the business and demonstrated the progress they had made.

She noted that their objective since inception had been to become the preferred energy provider for commercial clients, one that comprehends the specific requirements of smaller enterprises and develops services that enable their growth.

During 2025, the business onboarded 24 new employees, with 20 of those working from local positions.

It additionally completed 30 internal career advancements and guided eight apprentices through to successful completion of their qualifications, while a further five are presently undergoing their training programmes.

The enterprise has also expanded its community engagement, contributing £5,000 to ten sports clubs based in Oxfordshire and participating in twelve events at schools and colleges.

Valda Energy was selected as a contender for the Employer of the Year category at the 2025 Oxford Business Awards.

Steve James, the company’s co-founder and chief executive, indicated that attaining this figure demonstrated the confidence small enterprises have in the organisation, though equally important was the difference they could make within the local area.
