A celebrated ensemble renowned for giving contemporary chart music a retro makeover is preparing to entertain audiences this spring.
The internationally recognised Postmodern Jukebox will appear at Oxford’s New Theatre as part of their The Future Is Vintage UK tour, with the concert set for May 20.
Established by keyboard player and arranger Scott Bradlee in 2011, the act converts current popular tracks into classic jazz, swing, and soul versions, providing listeners with an old-fashioned perspective on present-day favourites.
Speaking about the current enthusiasm surrounding artificial intelligence, Mr Bradlee observed that some have suggested music could soon be entirely machine-generated, adding that his group would happily bet against that outcome.
Regarding the upcoming 2026 Postmodern Jukebox tour across the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, Mr Bradlee explained that the shows would offer their distinctive vision of an extraordinary future, one constructed on enduring musical styles from earlier eras and the genuine human creative spirit that originally inspired them.
The tour will cover 20 British towns and cities, including Bristol, Birmingham, Liverpool, and Manchester.
Mr Bradlee’s initial project started as a collection of YouTube recordings made in a modest apartment in New York and has since grown into a worldwide touring success, gathering in excess of one billion online views and completely sold-out shows on six continents.
Featuring an ever-changing lineup of accomplished vocalists, dancers, and instrumentalists, the live production guarantees an evening of entertainment, wit, and impressive musical skill.
