Oxfordshire charities have two weeks to enter Brand the Bus competition

Published on

Groups working in the charitable sector and local communities have only a fortnight remaining to submit applications for this year’s Brand the Bus initiative.

The Oxfordshire-based contest, operated by Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel, has a submission deadline of March 31 and presents a prize package valued at £100,000.

The successful applicant will be awarded a twelve-month fully-wrapped promotional campaign on an electric double-decker vehicle, complimentary advertising space across Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel fleets, airtime on Get Radio, and the designation of Oxford City’s preferred charity for the 2026/27 period.

Hamish Law, Get Radio’s commercial director, expressed enthusiasm about the continued backing of the contest, stating that it provides additional Oxfordshire charitable organisations with the chance to achieve a transformative level of visibility throughout the county.

Since the nomination period began on March 2, more than twenty groups have already registered their participation in the competition.

Chris Williams, Oxford City FC’s partnerships director, noted the club’s continued involvement with the initiative and highlighted how numerous charities perform vital services within the Oxfordshire community, making this an excellent vehicle for promoting their efforts across the entire county.

Following the closure of nominations, residents will have the opportunity to cast their votes between April 1 and April 30. The ten highest-performing charitable organisations will then undergo evaluation by a specialist judging panel, which will determine the ultimate victor.

One-Eighty, a mental health organisation dedicated to supporting young people, claimed victory in last year’s contest, with Helen & Douglas House securing the position of inaugural runner-up. The decorated bus is slated to commence operations during the autumn season.
