A pensioner from Witney has taken on a daily mile throughout May to generate money for the RNLI.
Dave Thompson, who chairs the Faringdon RNLI branch, is joined by 78-year-old Helen Benton in the May Mile-A-Day initiative.
The duo have pledged to walk or cycle a mile each day during May in a bid to collect £1,000 for the organisation and are urging fellow residents to get involved.
According to Mr Thompson, the opening day brought in £287, leaving the pair confident of hitting their target.
He expressed hope that numerous individuals would take part, whether through walking, jogging, biking or making a donation.
He noted that any contribution would be greatly appreciated.
Despite facing recent medical concerns, Ms Benton intends to complete the challenge on foot, while Mr Thompson will cover his distance by bicycle.
