He received a video the previous day recorded by one of the nurses showing his father upright in a chair with his legs working a small cycling device, making jokes about how simple cycling is. This brightened his evening considerably as his father sat catching his breath while attempting a humorous remark, which is quintessential behaviour for his father, always attempting a poor pun. James wondered aloud where he gets his own comedic tendencies from. His father’s legs are moving, which represents excellent progress, indicating sensation is returning to the left side of his body.
