Police have confirmed that a man sought in connection with a sexual assault inquiry has been located.
Investigators had distributed closed-circuit television images in an effort to establish the identity of a suspect following reports of an assault on a woman aged between 20 and 29 in a parking facility at the John Radcliffe Hospital in the Headington area.
The incident is reported to have occurred at approximately 22:00 on Friday, January 30.
A spokesperson for the constabulary stated that images previously circulated showing a man officers wished to question have now been withdrawn from circulation after the individual was identified.
The public appeal, which had been issued the previous day, was discontinued following the breakthrough.
The appeal had concerned allegations that a man had sexually assaulted a woman in her twenties within the hospital car park on Headley Way at around 10pm on Friday, January 30.
Investigating officers expressed gratitude to members of the public who assisted by distributing the appeal.
No individuals have yet been detained in connection with the investigation.
